Eager Faith
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” - Matthew 18:3-4
“Pastor Karen! We wrote a song we want you to see!”
It’s already such a cool experience having a child show you something they’re proud of. The quick speed as they race toward you, the excitement and spark of joy in their eyes, the eager anticipation expressed in fidgeting fingers and tapping toes. That, to me, is such fun to witness. It’s even cooler to see this kind of enthusiasm surrounding their faith.
Macy and Lucy ran to me to share the song they wrote about Jesus.
Jocelyn burst out loud letting me know she’s been studying the seven days of creation.
Leighton interrupted mid-lesson to point out a connection he made to another part of the Bible.
Alaryck recited a huge part of The Lord’s Prayer he’s been learning in Wee Worship.
Are you this eager to humbly yet excitedly share a development in your faith with others? May we return to that childlike posture - quick to learn, quick to believe, and quick to share the goodness of Jesus with others.
Macy and Lucy’s song:
Jesus, Jesus, we believe in our God
Jesus, Jesus, he gives me strength and hope
Hope, hope, we love him no matter what
He’s Jesus Christ so believe in him
In Him
