Changed: A New Creation

Change is difficult, this can be any kind of change, from something as simple as a change in where you sit at work or school, to having a pastoral change. As you all know we are going through a huge change as Pastor Lou has come in as our brand new pastor. God consistently brings up how good change is in the world. Change is what allows us as people and as Christians to get better in our faith and be closer to God. It also allows those who possibly don’t know God or aren't truly faithful to God the ability to get closer to Him. Many see the miracles of God and understand how good He is, though others still fear change. The natural love for constant and consistent activities in life makes it hard to fully grasp and understand change. Especially considering how God’s plans are difficult to understand, often causing doubt in His love or if He is even there. I have certainly had my doubts about God but after reading 2 Corinthians 5:17 my mind was open to this possibility that change is good. The verse says this, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" When the “new” comes it refills us as people. Those who believe they are changed are the new creation. So through change, always remember - you are a new creation and through this big change of pastoral leadership, we are to be made new and opened to new ideas.
