In the Midst of the Busy
Life feels so busy right now. Busy schedules, busy minds, busy hearts. The lists seem endless, the sticky notes pile up, and the to dos never quite seem to get done.
Just the other day, I was sitting at my desk right in the middle of all the busyness. Papers spread out, lists running through my mind, trying to keep up with everything. And then I heard a little giggle at my door.
Before I could even respond, a tiny hand appeared around the corner holding a flower, followed by the biggest smile on that child’s face. It was such a quick moment, but it stopped me in my tracks.
In the middle of the chaos, there was joy. In the middle of the rushing, there was beauty. In the middle of the noise, there was a gentle reminder.
God is present in every moment.
Sometimes we get so caught up in doing that we forget to simply notice, to slow down, to breathe, to see His goodness all around us. In a small flower and a child’s smile, I was reminded that God’s creation is still speaking, still bringing joy, still inviting us to pause.
So today, take a moment. Look up from the lists. Notice the little things. And praise Him, not just for all that needs to get done, but for all that He is already doing all around you.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
