I Know a Name
(I know a name that can silence the roaring waves, empty out a grave. It's the only name that saves and it's worthy of all praise.)
There is a name unlike any other and that name is Jesus. The same voice that spoke to the storm and calmed the waves is the same voice that called the dead out of the grave. His name doesn’t just comfort us. It saves us, completely and eternally. And because of who He is, He alone is worthy of all our praise.
I( call You, Jesus, Healer, Risen and reigning in power. Something comes out of the grave every time I call You, Jesus, Savior, Worthy of glory forever.)
When we call on Jesus, we’re not speaking into the air. We’re calling on the Healer, the One who conquered death and now reigns in power. Every time we call His name, something shifts. What feels dead, hopeless, or buried doesn’t get the final say - Jesus does.
(I have a King with dominion over death. He holds the keys in His holy nail-scarred hands. He is the heel that has crushed the serpent's head; our resurrected Great I Am.)
He is not a distant Savior. He is our King, alive and victorious, holding authority over death itself. The scars in His hands remind us that the battle has already been fought and won. The enemy has been crushed, and Jesus stands as our resurrected Great I Am.
(Every time I call Your name, chains break, dry bones wake, the gates of Hell shake.)
That’s why His name carries power. Chains don’t stand a chance. Dry bones don’t stay lifeless. Hell itself trembles, not because of us, but because of the name we call on.
(Where, oh death, is now your sting? And where, oh grave, your victory?)
So we can ask with confidence: death, where is your sting now? Grave, where is your victory? Because of Jesus, those things have lost their power.
(Dead things come alive in the name of Jesus.)
And what was once dead? It doesn’t have to stay that way. In the name of Jesus, dead things come alive.
