He Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed!
This is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus and how he died on the cross for our sins. This is special to me because I always feel that I have a lot of sins that Jesus died on the cross for. I am not a perfect person like most people aren’t but I always feel like I have done more. I don’t know why I feel that way but I feel like my sinning never stops. I curse sometimes, I get angry, I stress and I get stressed when I always know God has got my back, I know that most people can relate. I do things that are out of my control, but I still do them.
The true meaning of Easter is that Jesus sacrificed himself over everything and got crucified on the cross for our sins only to be resurrected 3 days later reconciling with God. He has given himself over to us to celebrate eternal life within him. This is a new covenant between God and humanity giving us rebirth into the spiritual realm.
Easter eggs have represented a symbol of an empty tomb from which Jesus had resurrected. Easter bunnies are to represent the fertility of life. Easter lamb is what was traditionally served for Easter dinner and was the sacrificial lamb symbolized as the great sacrifice that Jesus made for our sins. Lilies which I actually never understood were to represent new life, purity and hope within us.
As we sit down for our Easter dinner and think about aloof things that Easter actually means let us remember that Jesus was crucified for all of our sins and that he did that only to be resurrected three days later to come back as a fulfillment to God and the atonement to confirm victory over death and sin. This was the prophecy fulfilled by Jesus. Think about the life that we all live now because of this sacrifice.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3
Let us live in that love and hope and sacrifice that Jesus had died on the cross for us. Lift yourself up in love and hope that he died for our sins and that we shall not have to bear that burden of being the sacrificial lamb.
