Teeming With Life

Today, I found myself looking around and thinking, “Wow. This place is full of life.” Not just on Sunday mornings, but throughout the week. There are people coming and going, serving, learning, meeting, working, and being cared for. Everywhere I looked today, I saw another reminder that God is at work in our church.

Salvation Army was constantly full of people today. The special needs classroom was open and thriving, creating a place where every person can know they are valued and belong. In the offices, staff members gathered for meaningful conversations and meetings, making plans and working together to serve our church and community well.

Down the hall, little hearts and minds were being educated in our daycare. They were learning and growing in a place where we have the opportunity to show them the love of Jesus. Outside, a dedicated servant was faithfully mowing the grass, caring for the space God has entrusted to us. And through our little free pantry, people were receiving help with needs that might otherwise go unmet.

None of these things may look like a typical Sunday morning worship service, but all of them are ministry. All of them are evidence of a church that is alive.

Sometimes we look for God to move in the big moments, but perhaps we should also look for Him in the ordinary moments happening all around us. Every conversation, every lesson, every act of service and every helping hand can become an expression of God's love.

Our church is teeming with life because God is at work among us. May we never take that for granted. May we celebrate what He is doing, and may we continue making room for even more life to flourish.
