He is Faithful. Hosanna and Amen.

This past Sunday, we waved our palms and cried out “Hosanna!”—a powerful word that means “Save us!” It’s the cry of a people in need. And it still echoes in our hearts today.

But as we journey deeper into Holy Week, I find myself asking:
Am I so busy crying out “Save me!” that I’ve missed what Jesus is actually trying to save me from?

The people lining the streets of Jerusalem wanted a Messiah who would fix their circumstances. A political rescuer. A military hero. But Jesus came riding on a donkey—not to take power, but to lay it down. Not to crush the enemy, but to crush death itself.

What if Jesus is still trying to rescue us from things we don’t even realize we’re bound to?
Pride. Fear. Control. Shame.
What if His salvation is quieter, deeper, and more complete than we dared hope for?

1 Thessalonians 5 says:

“But you are not in darkness… You are all children of the light and children of the day.”
We don’t live in confusion or fear. We know the character of our Savior. We see clearly the unfolding of God’s story—even in pain, even in silence.

We are not caught off guard or abandoned.
We are children of the light (John 12).
We are held by a faithful God.

So as we walk through this Holy Week—through the Last Supper, the cross, the waiting—may we walk with open eyes and soft hearts.
And may our cries of Hosanna not just beg for rescue, but surrender to the One who has already answered.

He is faithful. Hosanna and amen.
