Called to Love

God calls us to love, as He has loved us. We are called to love our friends, co-workers and neighbors and forget bitterness and love those around us. When we start to hate and have hard feelings, we spiral into destruction. When we love, however, we build true connections between each other as people, bonds that can't be broken.

The Bible represents this saying, Ephesians 4:31-32, "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Because Christ Jesus forgave us and died for us on the cross, we need to show that same love as Christians to even those where it could be difficult.

Our God forgives us for every sin we commit. Every slip, every mistake we make. He still loves and forgives us even if we don't deserve it. When we fight our battles, He still loves us through the worst and He already knows every battle out there. Those co-workers, those neighbors or friends may be fighting battles we don't know, so rather than holding bitterness we have to choose love. Because God forgives us, we must take after Him and forgive others.

The Bible also says this in John 15:12-13, “ Love each other as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” When we truly love one another we find peace in each other and when we find love in ourselves, it will be far easier to look towards God, and appreciate the love He has given us.
