Spirit of God, Do It Again

This past week, I was reminded that the Holy Spirit doesn’t just spark in us - He spreads through us. After I preached the first sermon in the Pass the Torch series, many of you took the flame pin as more than a symbol. You carried it as a calling. One person shared that they gave their pin to a friend at work, and that friend wept. That simple act of courage opened the door for her to return to church after a long time away.

That is the Spirit at work. What began as a spark in you is becoming a flame in others. What started with a pin, or with a baton through District Superintendent Pastor Andy Monnin's sermon this past Sunday, is becoming a movement. The fire of God is never meant to stop with us—it’s meant to spread.

I keep hearing the words of the song Rest On Us:
As the Spirit was moving over the waters, Spirit, come move over us… Fire and wind, come and do it again.

From the very beginning, the Spirit of God hovered, moved, breathed, and brought life. And He is still doing that today - filling us, empowering us, and sending us to carry His presence into workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and homes.

When you pass the torch, you’re not just handing off a pin or baton - you’re saying, “Spirit of God, do it again through them.”

So let’s keep our eyes open this week. Who is God nudging you to invest in? Who needs you to believe in them, encourage them, or walk with them? The spark is catching. The Spirit is flooding the earth. And the same God who moved then is moving now.
