Big Serve Sunday: Hope in Action
One Hope, what a beautiful day of being the Church!
This past Sunday, we stepped out of the building and into the heart of our community—and God moved in powerful ways. Together, we gave over 200 hours of service through projects that reflected love, compassion, and connection. From yardwork and gutter clean-ups to home visits, shared meals, nursing home celebrations, and caring for shut-ins, you showed what it means to live like Jesus.
You didn’t just serve—you loved deeply, listened well, and offered hope.
A very special thank you to our amazing team leads, whose leadership and preparation made the day so meaningful:
Ryan Murphy and Scott Reckers, Chad Kuhn, Lisa Wertz, Brittany and Aaron Childress, Stan Ward, Carrie Ward, Julia Elizabeth and Cindy Coon-Bowman, Jim and Marilyn Brashear, and Thad Simpson and Charles Blevins.
Your hearts for service and your willingness to lead others is a true gift to this church and to our city.
Let’s be encouraged by Galatians 5:13–14 (NIV):
"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
On Big Serve Sunday, we lived this out together—and it mattered.
Let’s carry this spirit forward. Let’s keep finding ways to serve humbly in love, to notice the needs around us, and to meet them with joy and grace. Because when we serve others, we reflect the very heart of Jesus.
