A Note from the Pastor

Dear One Hope Church Family,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As we look ahead, I am genuinely excited about the future God has prepared for us as we trust Him together. Even as many things are unfolding around us—both in our world and in our own lives—let us not lose sight of what God is calling us to do: to remain faithful to Him, to love Him with all our hearts, and to serve the people He has placed around us. We move forward not in our own strength, but in humble dependence on His grace.

We have just entered a season of prayer and fasting as a church. This is an act of obedience and a response to God’s invitation to draw closer to Him. As we set aside time to pray and fast, we are asking the Lord to align our hearts with His heart. I want to personally and humbly encourage each of you to participate daily in whatever way you are able.

In this same season, we are also seeing God’s hand at work among us in very visible ways. Over the past few months, we have witnessed growth in our church—new faces joining us, lives being changed, and people following Jesus in baptism. These are not things we could ever take credit for; they are signs of God’s grace and a powerful reminder that He is moving in our midst.

Along with this growth, we are entering a season of equipping. We believe God is calling us to raise up leaders and strengthen our staff to do the work of the ministry. One way we are doing this is by giving members of our teaching team opportunities to preach on Sunday mornings. Please be praying for them as they step out in faith to serve and proclaim God’s Word. We rejoice in what God is doing, and at the same time we recognize how dependent we are on Him for wisdom, courage, and unity.

In addition, on Sunday, August 9, 2026, we will host a special leadership training and equipping day focused on learning how to make disciples effectively. This will be a significant event for our church family. I ask that you begin praying now for this gathering—that God would use it to deepen our commitment to His mission—and that you would seriously consider being there and taking part. My hope is not simply that we would attend an event, but that we would be formed more fully into disciples who make disciples.

Scripture reminds us of God’s faithful work in and through His people: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6, NIV). This is our confidence—not in our plans, but in God’s power and promise.

Church, I am deeply grateful for each of you. Thank you for your faithfulness, your love for Jesus, and your heart to serve others. Let us continue to trust God for a great future, walking humbly with Him and giving Him all the glory for every good thing He is doing among us.

With love and gratitude in Christ,

Pastor Lou
