A Christian people, A Holiness People, A Missional People

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” - Revelations 7:9-10

On January 16th, the General Church of the Nazarene released the statistics for 2025. I'm a bit of a nerd and I am fascinated by the numbers presented. Here's a couple of valuable notes I've taken from the report:

  • The African region is the largest region of Nazarenes, having nearly double the number of USA/Canada region members and also accounting for over 1/3 of all Nazarenes.

  • The Asia-Pacific region is seeing an impact on salvations, having more than a 10% increase in membership with 67% of those being from professions of faith.

  • The Mesoamerica and USA/Canada regions are keeping the vast majority of their members connected well by utilizing both in person and online services.

  • The South America region is reaching children beyond the church walls with more kids attending VBS than registered on accountability care list for their local congregations.

  • Eurasia went down significantly in membership (14%) and will need support to see a change in this trend. I am intrigued to see how other regions can come alongside and support them.

The Church of the Nazarene is a global denomination, making disciples of all nations and all areas of the world. We not only strive to spread the gospel to every ear that will listen through evangelism, but we also seek transformation into Christlikeness through discipleship. In addition, we care for the sheep already in the flock - the tracking of these stats is proof of this. From north to south, east to west, salvation to glorification, the Church of the Nazarene is on mission to see all people come into a full relationship with God and with others.

We are a Christian people, a holiness people, a missional people under One LORD, One FAITH, and One BAPTISM. Praise be to God.
